What we collect when you ask us about a website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

  • Pagefive is Dale Purvis trading as Pagefive. We are responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: breakthroughbytes@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • When you fill in a form on Facebook or Instagram, use our contact form, or email us: your name, business name, email address, phone number, links to your current website or social pages, and anything you tell us about your business.
  • When you ask for a free website check: your business name, website address, town, email address and anything you tell us about your site.
  • When you become a client: what you need to run the project and invoice you, such as your business address and payment records.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you, do the free website check or prepare the free draft you asked for, and give you a price. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • To build and look after your website once you're a client (contract), and to keep accounts (legal obligation).
  • We don't sell your data, add you to a mailing list, or use it for anything else.

Who sees it

  • Meta, if you sent it through a Facebook or Instagram form. Their own privacy policy applies to that.
  • Google, which runs our email, and Vercel, which hosts our sites. Both act on our instructions.
  • PostHog, which counts visits to this website for us from servers in the EU.
  • No one else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and website checks that don't go ahead: deleted within 12 months.
  • Clients: for as long as we work together, then six years for tax and accounting records.

Your rights

  • You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email breakthroughbytes@gmail.com and we'll reply within a month.
  • If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and visit counting

  • This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Its fonts are served from this site, so nothing is fetched from Google.
  • We count visits with PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the EU, set up so it uses no cookies and keeps nothing on your device. It tells us which pages are visited and which buttons are pressed, not who you are. Each visit is counted on its own, so we can't follow you from one visit to the next.
